Li Hing Mui
Extremely popular Chinese snack food treasure
If you know Hawaiian history, then you are aware that Chinese immigrants came to Hawaii over 100 years ago. So, it should be no surprise that many of their foods are a definite part of the Hawaiian culture. One such food, a Chinese snack food treasure, is called Li Hing Mui.
Li Hing Mui is a type of preserved fruit or dried fish snack that is extremely popular in the Islands, both among children and adults. In fact, the children of Hawaii grow up consuming this as often and whenever they can. Li Hing Mui consists primarily of various types of preserved fruits. Sometimes they are salty, and, sometimes, they are sweet and sour. But, all of the time, they are mouthwatering good!
Also among the Li Hing Mui treats are some dried fish snacks. They are not at all like regular fish and are very much a chewy, mildly salty, and very yummy, healthy snack food.
Once you try any of these snacks, you will find that your mouth will water just at the thought of them. Many of you have asked us to provide these wonderful preserved fruit and dried fish snacks.
